I can’t access Compares because I have a new account. What can I do?

To get access to Compares analysis immediately, you may need to change your Forecast Event’s date to start further back, so that some relevant comparisons exist between your Event Periods and Transactions. Just go to the Complete Event List (Forecast > Complete Event List – https://my.pocketsmith.com/events) and edit your date to start occurring a couple of months ago.

Click the Calendar Date field in the Complete Event List to edit

Now you should be able to see your Comparison information for your uploaded transactions.

Why do I have to do this?

When you have just created an account your transactions versus your forecasted events will look something like this – assuming you created your account on the 23rd of March.

Compares with a New PocketSmith Account

At this stage, PocketSmith is not able to compare how you performed against your budget for your forecasted ‘Groceries’ event. This is because the transactions occur before your first Groceries event.

After a while your matched transactions will overlap with your budgeted events – giving PocketSmith some numbers to crunch – as shown below.
