Adding Manual Transactions

You are able to add manual transactions in a number of ways; both within PocketSmith and utilising Twitter / text messages. This section will address adding manual transactions through a) the manual transaction list, b) the transaction calendar and c) the main Transaction Account page. Firstly, create a Manual Transaction Account – follow the steps outlined in ‘Creating a Transaction Account

Adding Manual Transactions in List View

This area allows you to quickly copy previous transactions to replicate them and add multiple transactions at once.

1. A single transaction(1a) Click on any of the fields to edit them.

2. Copy button – this will duplicate the transaction into the new transaction form, with today’s date
3. Delete button – this will delete the transaction
4. New transaction form – this is where you enter a single transaction for this Transaction Account

  1. Payee – enter the description for this transaction

  2. Amount – enter the amount of the transaction, and whether it is an expense or income

  3. Date – select the date that this transaction occurred. Click on the calendar button to pop-up a small calendar.

5. Add Another Transaction – this adds another form for a new transaction for quick addition of multiple transactions
6. Save All New Transactions – this will save the transactions which have been entered in the form(s).

Adding Manual Transactions in Calendar View

You are able to quickly add manual transactions as you are viewing your transactions in the calendar view.

1. Click the ‘Manual Trans’ button at the bottom of the day you’d like to add transactions for add-manual-transaction-calendar
2. The title of the pop-up window shows you the date that you clicked on manual-transaction-calendar
3. This allows you to switch between different manual Transaction Accounts you may have
4. This is an existing transaction for this day – click on any of the values to edit, or the Trash can icon to delete
5. New transaction form – this is where you enter a single transaction for this Transaction Account

  1. Payee – enter the description for this transaction

  2. Amount – enter the amount of the transaction, and whether it is an expense or income

6. Add Another Transaction – this adds another form for a new transaction for quick addition of multiple transactions
7. Save All New Transactions – this will save the transactions which have been entered in the form(s).

Adding Manual Transactions in Main Transaction Account Page

1. Click on the ‘Add’ tab within the Transaction Account box add-transaction-tab
2. New transaction form – this is where you enter a single transaction for this Transaction Account

  1. Payee – enter the description for this transaction

  2. Amount – enter the amount of the transaction, and whether it is an expense or income

  3. Type – select whether this is an income or an expense

  4. Date – select the date for this transaction – defaults to today

4. Save All New Transactions – this will save the transactions which have been entered in the form(s).
