One thing to keep in mind of course is to track your expenses at the end of every month or so. This will make it easier to budget your money because you have a better idea of where your money tends to go. Also, after budgeting, tracking your expenses lets you know if you are actually following your budget. Someone might set up a budget but not realize that they are not even close to following it.
