I think a hash-type-tag would be perfect - it fits with the Twitter vernacular as well. You are right - shortcodes are pretty damn geeky, but as you rightly point out, it will be us geeks tweeting in transactions :D

So, we'll put some thought into this (such as the interface for adding short codes to manual transaction accounts), and we'll stay in touch as this develops (which is likely to be sooner rather than later!)

Thanks for your input Phillip :)

I like the the thought of using a character like a comma or a # sign because it's simple.

I think a short-code is fine. At first I was worried about having yet another thing to remember however, there's only really 2 or possibly 3 accounts (out of 7) that I update so frequently I would benefit from tweeting the transaction remotely at the time of purchase. 2 or 3 short-codes is not a lot to remember.

Here's a full example:
D pstxt 9.99 lunch #wallet

In general, short-codes feel a bit geeky but I suppose it probably takes a geek to tweet a transaction in the first place.

Thanks guys,
Phillip

Hi Phillip,

Thanks for the positive comments! Currently it just puts them into the first Manual Transaction account it finds, or it creates one called 'Cash'.

We're thinking of ways to assign the transaction to a specific Manual Transaction account - and it'd be great to get your thoughts on this. Basically we were thinking of some kind of short-code that you specify, perhaps in capitals at the end, or perhaps separated simply by a comma - what would be easiest in your use of the function?

Thanks again Phillip :D

Just gave this a test drive. It's awesome. Is there a syntax or way to log those transactions into something other than the default account?
